PITTSBURGH – Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) Chairman Gladys M. WHAT:
#UtilityCareers Press Conference

WHEN:
Thursday, April 12, 10:30 a.m.

WHERE:
Community College of Allegheny County – West Hills Center
1000 McKee Road, Room S1308

Chairman Brown will join with CCAC Provost Dr. Stuart Blacklaw and representatives from numerous utilities and organizations – including Duquesne Light, Columbia Gas, West Penn Power, Pennsylvania American Water, UGI Utilities and the IBEW – along with students from the college.

“There is a strong anticipated need for skilled utility workers across the country, driven by a combination of factors – including an aging current workforce as well as the need to support new systems and technologies,” noted Chairman Brown. “These are systems and people we depend upon to keep our communities safe and healthy, and it is important that we do what we can to ensure that our utilities have the skilled personnel they need to meet the needs of today and tomorrow.”

The PUC event at CCAC is part of a broader statewide collaborative effort by the PUC, public utilities and educational institutions to increase public awareness about career opportunities in the utility sector.
