PUC Approves Lower Rate Increase than Requested for Pine Roe Natural Gas Company

HARRISBURG –The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today approved a lower annual rate increase than originally requested for Pine Roe Natural Gas Company, Clarion County.

The Commission voted 5-0 to approve a motion by Commissioner David W. Sweet clarifying a matter in a joint settlement allowing for an increase in overall revenues of $35,000 (40 percent). The settlement was reached among the PUC’s independent Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement, the Office of Consumer Advocate and Pine Roe.

Pine Roe had originally requested an annual increase in overall revenues of $50,000, or 57 percent. Under the current settlement, the customer charge will increase by $3.39 (51 percent), from $6.61 to $10.

Pine Roe provides natural gas service to residential customers in the Townships of Beaver, Clarion, Monroe and Piney, Clarion County.
