PUC to Investigate Water Rate Increase by Twin Lakes Utilities

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today voted to investigate the water rate increase proposed by Twin Lakes Utilities Inc., Pike County.
The Commission voted 5-0 to investigate the request, which proposes an increase in total annual operating revenues for water service by $211,793 (158%). The proposed request would increase the monthly bill for all residential customers using 2,500 gallons from $96.91 to $254.44 (162%).
The request is suspended for up to seven months and will be assigned to the Office of Administrative Law Judge for recommended decisions. A final decision by the Commission is due by April 19, 2020. More information on the ratemaking process is available on the PUC’s website.
Twin Lakes provides water service to approximately 100 customers in Pike County.
