PUC Cancels Blair County Bus Company License

Published on 5/10/2002

HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) cancelled a Williamsburg, Blair County, bus company’s operating license for violating the Public Utility Code by not paying a $4,750 fine.

Katrina V. Waddington, owner of Waddington Tours, was fined in February 1995 for selling tours and arranging transportation, meals, admission tickets and lodging at locations originating outside the scope of her authorized territory.

When Waddington failed to pay the Commission-imposed fine, the PUC’s Bureau of Transportation and Safety filed a complaint against the company in May 2001 and recommended the Commission revoke Waddington Tours license to operate.

In May 2002, a PUC administrative law judge (ALJ) sustained the complaint.

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission ensures safe, reliable and reasonably priced electric, natural gas, water, telephone and transportation service for Pennsylvania consumers, by regulating public utilities and by serving as responsible stewards of competition.
