The mission of the PA 911 Task Force (“Task Force”) is to address issues
related to the establishment of a statewide 911 emergency access network in Pennsylvania
. The Task Force will facilitate discussions related to the continued development
and enhancement of the 911 system that is intended to provide Pennsylvania residents
with access to statewide emergency services and a disaster preparedness network.
The Task Force will propose resolutions and advise the Pennsylvania Public Utility
Commission (PA PUC) and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) on how
to resolve these rapidly evolving issues regarding the establishment of a statewide
911 emergency access network in Pennsylvania . The Task Force will consist of members
from the PA PUC, members of PEMA, representatives from county and city PSAPs and
public safety associations, and representatives from services providers operating
in Pennsylvania.
