Start of the Breadcrumb.Home \ Telecommunications \ PA Universal Service Fund

The Pennsylvania Universal Service Fund (PaUSF or Fund) was established to reduce access charges and intraLATA toll rates for Pennsylvania telephone customers. The Fund, initially set at $32 million annually, is meant to encourage greater toll competition while enabling carriers to preserve the affordability of local service rates in Pennsylvania . Approximately 300 telecommunications service providers contribute to the Fund and payments are disbursed monthly to 32 qualified recipients. At the current time, wireless carriers are not required to contribute to the Fund.

Solix Inc. is the administrator for the Fund.
