4. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association (FMCSA)
   The purpose of FMCSA is to prevent commercial motor vehicle-related fatalities and injuries.  FMCSA activities contribute to ensuring safety in motor carrier operations through programs and regulations that are listed on the website.

5. Office of Hazardous Materials Safety (Hazmat)
   Hazmat is part of the United States Department of Transportation's Research and Special Programs Administration, and is responsible for coordinating a national safety program for the transportation of hazardous materials by air, rail, highway and water.

   CVSA is a non-profit organization of federal, state, and provincial government agencies and representatives from private industry in the United States , Canada and Mexico dedicated to improving commercial vehicle safety.

   PEMA oversees a number of programs and services to help prevent, respond to, or recover from disasters. They include federal and state support, as well as citizen-based volunteer opportunities to assist in times of disaster or emergency.

   Pennsylvania uses AlertPA to provide citizens and partners with timely information to assist them in making informed decisions. AlertPA delivers emergency and weather alerts, health notifications and updates.

4. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
   FEMA’s mission is to support our citizens and first responders to ensure that as a nation we work together to build, sustain, and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.

   FEMA offers a free service called Updates During Disasters. When a disaster is declared in a state or region FEMA generates e-mail bulletins to keep citizens updated about how to obtain assistance and reduce loss of life and property.
